Posted 8/31/2025 – Labor Day 2025 – Parade and Book Sale Link to Facebook Pictures

What an incredible Labor Day celebration! Our beloved Racing Sausages dashed to the finish line in support of the Benton Library, Museum, and Community Center. We took 3rd place in the parade, and we’re charging ahead with a first-place mindset to bring this project to life!
Thanks to everybody for making this another great day in Benton.

Selling books out front of the Benton PM Church, we were part of the 9to5 Sale and Restoration Fundraiser event that also featured the Benton Girl Scouts selling lemonade.

We had fun this summer! Thank you to everybody who participated!

Pictures from Summer Reading Program 2025 – June 10-17: Everybody enjoyed making bracelets during our first week! This week all of the kids were on board with another wonderful puppet show “Puppets Ahoy! The Cloudship Adventure” by the Fever River Puppeteers.

Summer Luncheon and Book Sale! Just out front of the library, we served sandwiches and set out book sale items on main street. All donations were in memory of Bill Foltz.

Over 75 people braved Wednesday’s heat to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for Benton’s Community Center, Library, and Museum. With construction beginning soon by J Squared Construction of Platteville, there’s sure to be plenty of excitement on Main Street Benton for the next 12 months. Dreams do come true. Summer Library Program 2025

As in the past, the summer library program (SLP) here in Benton has two parts:

SUMMER READING LOG—simply read—anywhere, anytime—plus visit the Benton Public Library three times during open hours (see below) between June 9 and July 19.  This incentive program is for all children and youth (0-18 years old).  Participants keep track of their reading on their reading logs (available in June) and earn prizes.  Prizes may be collected at the library after individual goals are met; last day to complete the log and collect prizes is Sat. July 19.

Note:  Children do NOT need to come to any story/activity programs to participate in this reading incentive program. 

SCHEDULED PROGRAMS AT BPL—reading and activities at the library for children 2 years old and older, June 10 to July 15. 

·      Color Our World:  Tuesdays 10-10:45 a.m. for children ages 2 and older.

*Children under the age of 5 must be accompanied by their caregiver.

Please note that the library is open only to the SLP participants and their caregivers during the scheduled program times but will reopen to the general public at 1:00 p.m.  There is no charge to participate in SLP.

Summer Library Program 2023

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO ATTENDED!

– Community Center post added July 2019 –

The Benton Village Board is embarking on the task of building a 

This Community Center building will facilitate; (1) new space for the library and museums; (2) centralized government offices; and (3) spaces for public or private meetings, gatherings, and family celebrations.

Along with FEH Design and the Core Planning Committee, the library will provide any new information on future developments.
We will keep you posted on what is pushing Benton forward.
